THE City of Wanneroo seems to lurch from one bizarre act to another.
Not content with building a boardwalk/bridge in Yanchep that no one was consulted about; the City now apparently wants to retrospectively sound out locals in an effort to legitimise the mistake.
Worse, the City is not surveying ratepayers (as one would expect a council to do) in the area.
Instead, it is sending surveys to registered State voters in Yanchep.
The City knows full well that the vast majority of people directly affected by the elevated section of the "bridge" are UK migrants and therefore unlikely to be on the State electoral roll.
If a survey needs to be done (and the jury is very much out about that), surely it should be directed at residents ... the ratepayers of the City ... not electors.
They are the people who live there.
This approach only serves to underline how little the City leaders respect their own ratepayers.
This is nothing more than an attempt to manufacture the result the City wants and everyone in Wanneroo can see that.
