BOWLS WA has lent a hand with fundraising efforts for the Toodyay Fire Appeal, with State players set to head a corporate day at Toodyay Bowling Club in March.
Bowls WA chairman of selectors Roger Barns hopes to raise as much as $40,000 from the event.
“We will bring State players to play a corporate day at $50 a person. Three players will play with a State player and there will be eight men’s players and six women players from the State team,” he said.
“We have also asked all the 222 clubs in metro and county areas for donations.”
Mr Barns said it would be a case of first in, best dressed for the opportunity to play alongside the State competitors. The line-up of players will be finalised next month.
Toodyay Bowling Club men’s captain Peter Healy said all money raised from the event would go towards the Bendigo Bank appeal.
With 42 spots on mixed-teams available, members of the public are also encouraged to sign up.
The all-day event will be held on March 19 from 10am and will include fundraising raffles and a barbecue lunch. Call 9574 4778.
