A 47-year-old man has died after falling from a cherry picker in South Perth this morning.

It is believed two men were chopping trees at a block of units in Mill Point, between Parker and Onslow streets, when the cherry picker's boom snapped and they fell about nine metres.

The second man survived the fall.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
