I THOUGHT our 2-1 win against Wellington Phoenix was one of the best games we have played at home.
We created good opportunities and shifted the ball from side to side really well.
If we can remain positive and produce that form again on Sunday against Gold Coast, then hopefully we can really hurt them.
Gold Coast are no slugs and like I’ve said many times, you have to turn up to play and there are no easy games in the Hyundai A-League.
Sunday will be no different with the Gold Coast boasting two current Socceroos, Jason Culina and Bruce Djite.
Culina and Djite are two awesome players. Djite will be out to impress in his first game since returning from Turkey to replace the departed Shane Smeltz.
Jason’s quality also speaks for itself but they’ll be worried about us too, especially our attack.
Mile Sterjovski is one of those players I’m talking about. He has been outstanding this season and his form has made my job a lot easier because the opposition have to worry about him.
In the first five weeks of the season, Sterjovski has been one of our best and that’s down to the great pre-season he had.
With three goals to his name, Sterjovski is the competition’s hottest striker, and with Robbie Fowler and Branko Jelic also in fine form, let’s hope our best start to a season continues on Sunday.
