THOUGH the V8 Supercars may not be making an appearance at Barbagallo Raceway this year, all is not lost for motor racing fans.
The WA Sporting Car Club gets stuck into the 2010 racing season with the second of the Smarter Than Smoking Night Masters at the raceway this Saturday.
For only the second time since night racing started at the raceway in 1991, racing will be on the long circuit with a record entry of more than 140 cars covering eight categories, from Formula Vees to Saloon Cars.
The popular saloon cars return for this meeting, with the Commodore-Falcon category broken into two fields of cars, with the Falcon AU-Holden VT and the Falcon EA-Holden VN doing battle.
Nathan Callaghan, AU-VT class state champion, will lead the Commodore battle with 2008 Champion Dion Panizza, Grant Johnson and Brett Stewart against the ever-improving Falcons of the Tremeer trio of Jason, Craig and Colin, along with Rick Gill.
Entry is $10 and free for children under 14.
